RockNLearn Dvd Review and Giveaway
My 4 year old daughter, Emarose enjoys singing the ABC song. She also insists on me singing her the Aah Buh Cuh (ABC letter sounds) song each night. She has me sing it several times, and now she can sing most of the song without help. I take pride in helping my daughter enjoy learning whether it be the alphabet, writing letters, counting, etc. I constantly look for opportunities to teach her while making it fun.
I received a copy of the DVD Letter Sounds from RockNLearn. My daughter doesn't watch much T.V., but when she does I like to make it educational. I like that she is learning something. She has now begun to say the letter sounds along with the DVD and even sometimes she will say them during the day while she is playing. It gets 2 thumbs up from my daughter!
The video starts off with an Alphabet song showing both uppercase and lower letters. Then it goes over the most common sounds the letter makes. It does this by showing the letter and showing a picture of a word that starts with that letter. For example: A ahh apple and B Buh Bug. There is also a mouth showing how to form the sounds. The video has simple graphics, but is still engaging to the children. I like how it starts with the basics- alphabet and letter sounds and gets progressively harder. It has a Letter sounds quiz, Spelling simple words, Swapping out letter sounds, and finally reading sentences. I also like that it teaches that Q is usually followed by the letter U and that X makes a different sound at the beginning of the word then it does in the middle or end.
