It is summertime and I'm sure you are spending more time outside. My first thought is to protect my kids skin with sunscreen. I rarely think about other damage caused by the sun. Damage caused to our eyes is one that I had previously overlooked. Children's eyes are at an increased risk for permanent eye damage from sunlight until they reach at least 10 years old. This last month I have been trying to cut back on my junk food and start eating right. School is out and the weather is warming up. In my household that means more and more time spent outside. My kids are involved in Swimming lessons 4 days a week. Many of you may recall that my daughter has a lazy eye condition that requires her to wear an eye patch. It is hard getting her to wear the patch all the time and some of her current patches keep breaking. So I've been looking online for better patches. I found Dr. Patch . So are you know I have not "done" a whole lot this week do to packing... or have I. After I went back and looked at the week. I cut out sodas, had my last candy bar on Wednesday, walked the mall on Monday and walked Elitch Gardens on Tuesday. I felt really good Tuesday night when we got home. I was able to get out of the house and walk. I never knew how much I really enjoy walking. So while I have not done anything "BIG" I have done a lot of little things. That is where you should start. Small and then go big. I am also drinking a lot more water now. Most people (like my husband) say they lost about 10 lbs in the first month of just cutting out soda! While I am not a big soda drinker I still like my Coke every now and then. Well it is almost the end of the first week and I feel like I have a little more energy and I know I can do it!

I love Honey Bunches of Oats. Can I just start off saying that. Its sweet and yummy, and crunchy! They always seam to combined the best of two words too. Like the new  Honey Bunches of Oats Greek Honey Crunch . My husband loves Greek Yogurt, I however am not a big fan. But when I have it with my Honey Bunches of Oats it is just.... wow I don't have a lot of words for it other then YUMMM. It really is a great balance to to the yogurt and the sweet crunchyness of the Honey Bunches.

Well me doing blog post and packing was interpreted by us having a family day at Elitch Gardens. I am so proud of Aiden getting on some big rides.

My daughter is out of school for the summer. I'm trying to keep her busy with activities she will enjoy and that won't get boring. Both my daughter (age 5) and my son (age almost 3) love my iPad. In fact my son is always saying, "give it (iPad), me mommy." So I was pleased when school zone offered me the app I like to paint to use with my kids.

I remember the good old days when I was happy about my weight. But once you have kids lets face it our bodies are not quite the same. Based on this site, " Calculate Your Body Mass Index " I am right on the borderline of being over weight. (by like .5 points away not much) But even if I was not "overweight" I am still not happy with where I am. Lets face it I have a mommy belly! We all get it but how do we get back down to the smaller size again. Right now I am about to tell you my height and weight (they are both really importation to keep in mind). Your height makes a different in what is considered normal or overweight or underweight. So I am 5'7" and on a good day 156. Now before I had kids I was 125. So while I only gained 31 lbs across two kids, its still just that mommy belly I want to... tighten for lack of a better word. I am about to show you three picture I am not every happy with. So brace yourself.....
