No peek patches

As you know by now my daughter has to wear an eye patch. She will be wearing them for at least another couple of months. So I wanted to get some she wouldn't mind wearing. She is obsessed with Dora. So when I found a Dora eye patch from 2 Daughters and a mom I was thrilled.

To begin with the price of these patches can't be beat. They are $3 for a pack of 2. This means that you can get a huge variety for your child without breaking the bank. I know that with Emarose it helps that she has patches to choose from. She can now wear her favorite character or coordinate with an outfit.
I received 2 eye patches. A purple one with Dora sticker and a orange one with a Boots sticker. Around the sticker is glitter glue to make it sparkle.

Ozeri ZK011 Precision Pro Stainless-Steel Digital Kitchen Scale

So when I left to go to Arizona for a week Ryan called me and told me he was going on a diet. At first I kinda laughed, I love him but I have been fighting with him to eat right for weeks now. We used to go out to eat all the time and when he did eat at home he would more just munch and not really eat. So when I can home and saw that the refrigerator was filled with fruits and veggies I was in a state of shock!!! Then he told me he need to get a kitchen scale because he need to weigh out his food. Little did he know that one was already on the way.

Calma baby bottle from Medela

Hey there breastfeeding mamas, are you going to have to go back to work after the baby is born? Are you looking for a bottle that will help your little one go from breast to bottle without any problems? You should really look into the new Calma by Medela then.

Is it to late for Halloween Costumes this year?

Halloween is quickly approaching. Have you kids picked costumes yet? If not you can still get a costume before Halloween from Costume Discounters.

I was sent the Thomas the Tank Costume for review purposes.

Wordless Wednesday

Aiden's first pumpkin patch. He loves pumpkins

Firmoo glasses and sunglasses

I wear glasses and unfortunately don't have a pair of prescription sunglasses. Since I have to wear glasses all the time I never bothered to get a pair of regular sunglasses. So when I decided to get contacts a few weeks ago, I decided now was the time to get a pair of sunglasses.
I choose to get my pair online through a company called Firmoo. They were kind enough to send me the  Womens full frame in Black in exchange for my review.

Did you know you can rent textbooks?

Everyone knows that college is expensive. First you have the cost of tuition, but then you have to add all the textbooks. Many textbooks are quite expensive. Most of the time you only use them for a semester or 2. Then what happens? You try to sell them back. You get hardly anything out of it, or they will no longer take the book because a newer one has come out. Now there is a way that you can save on your college textbooks. You can rent the textbooks from Campus Book Rentals.

Campus book rentals has a variety of books to choose from. You could search by a title such as Ages and Stages: A parent's Guide to Normal Childhood Development. You can also search by isbn, author, or keyword. More than likely they will have the book you need.

Campus Book Rentals has many perks including:
free shipping both waysability to highlight in the textbookflexible renting periodssave 40-90% off of bookstore prices. Plus for every textbook rented they donate to Operation Smile. Operation Smile perfor…

Can you prevent head lice?

A couple months ago my kids and I got head lice. It was a pain trying to get them out of all of our heads. I thought I got rid of them all, but unfortunately a couple weeks later found more in our hair. So when I heard about a product that helps prevent lice I was happy. Lice Shield sent me some preventative products, plus a few surprises for my kids.

Anissa's Fun Patches

When I found out my daughter had to wear patches all day long every day, I started to look for some fun patches. I was thankful to find Anissa's fun patches.

These were the first non-adhesive patches that my daughter tried. She received 2 patches- a rainbow, and a pink one. She immediately had me take off her adhesive eye patch so she could try on her new ones. She chose to try the pink one first.

Family Firework Display Safety Tips {guest post}

Family Firework Display Safety Tips
Putting on a family fireworks display represents an excellent way to experiment with different fireworks, while organising an event that can be combined with food and hot drinks. Most fireworks displays are held around Bonfire Night, but can also be staged as part of a birthday or wedding. However, it is crucial that you be as safe as possible when planning a fireworks display, which means focusing on everything from getting the right fireworks to finding a suitable space, and ensuring that safety measures are in place for young children.

Maternity Monday 32 weeks

How your baby's growing:By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

"The Heart of Christmas" movie review and #giveaway

If you are looking for a movie that is going to move you, make you cry and an all around feel good movie "The Heart of Christmas" is the movie to see. This is a true story about a little boy named Dex and their family struggle with him having cancer. As a mom who has had a child with lots of little health problems I can't tell you how many times I cried. It was a real eye opener for me.

Dollar General's new line of affordable diapers

That's right I said it Dollar General's diapers! While I know most of my readers are cloth diapers mamas, I also know there are a lot of you who use disposable diapers too. Most of the time we end up using Luvs on Aiden because the generic brand rashes him out. So I was a little.... well I was really worried that a dollar store brand would do the same. But I was really surprised as to how well it held up.

Fenugreek helps with your milk supply

Hey there mommies! Are you having a hard time breastfeeding? Feel like your not getting enough milk in? Well here is something that is natural and will really help to boost your milk supply.
Fair Haven Health make easy to swallow pills that are just made of Fenugreek. Best part is you don't have to take a ton to get good results. Most of the time you will see teas and pills that help boost milk supply, but if you read how many you have to take or drink its crazy. Most of the teas say to drink 5 cups a day or to take 2 pills every 2 hours! With Fair Haven Health's Fenugreek you only need to take 2 capsule once (or twice depending on how much milk you want to have come in) a day!!!

Soft Scrub review

Most everyone has heard about Soft Scrub before. Now they have come out with two great new products. Both are sprays and both give you a foam or spray choice, and they work upside down too (to help get to the hard to reach places). First is the Total Bath and Bowl, this is great for cleaning the entire bathroom. Use it on the skin, tub you name it.

iPad Apps for your kids

If you ask my daugher she will tell you that, "She has an iPad. She just downloaded some stuff on it for me to use." In reality it is my iPad, but I do have tons of stuff on it for her to use. I really like to have educational apps available for my kids to use.

Punflay agreed to let me review 3 of their apps. Punflay has a variety of apps for preschool- grade 12. You can choose from education, books, games, and entertainment categories. Some of the apps are even free.

My daughter is in kindergarten and I received word wall, measurement, and kandy fish.

Word wall is a super app that helps beginning readers practice reading and writing skills. These skills are practiced through seeing, hearing, saying, and writing. Some of the activities include putting together a jigsaw puzzle, working on writing down a variety of word family words, and a memory match game.  The activities are designed to reinforce recognition of sight and word family words.

Once upon a time, we struggled with eczema {Guest post by Jennifer Ardoyno}

Once upon a time, we struggled with eczema…
Guest post by Jennifer Ardoyno I know I’m one, among thousands of moms, who has a child dealing with the frustrations of eczema. My son, who is now 8, has had eczema his whole life. I am all too familiar with the sleepless nights, scratching until bleeding, countless doctors’ appointments, and numerous creams and ointments…all brought on by eczema.

Eye Patching

A few months ago my daughter Emarose was told that she needed to patch her right eye. Her left eye was not able to see 20/20 with glasses. Emarose needed to strengthen the muscles in her left eye and this was done by covering up her stronger eye. Thus forcing her weaker eye to work.

We started off using adhesive patches for just 2 hours a day. After a month we went back for a follow up to see how it was working. Unfortunately we saw no change. There had been some days where patching didn't happen, and others where she had fallen asleep while patching. So the doctor suggested that we up the time of patching each day. Now she wanted Emarose to wear a patch all day long.

Emarose is in Kindergarten so I was concerned how this might affect her schoolwork. Luckily the doctor said she could see well enough in her poor eye that she should still do okay at school. I was also concerned how she would respond to having to wear her eye patch out of the house.

The adhesive patches started to bo…

My daughter Emarose takes the same Peanut Butter Sandwich to school each day. To add a little fun and variety to her lunches I found funbites.  Funbites are a cute way to cut your childs sandwich or other food.
Funbites was created by a mom of two girls. She was tired of spending so much time cutting food into small shapes. So she created funbites which cuts food neatly and evenly into bite-sized shapes. This product works on a variety of foods including lunch meat, cheese, hamburgers, pancakes, fruit, etc.

I was sent a funbites cube it to review. The moment it arrived in the mail we had to wash it and try it out. My daughter was super excited to have bite sized squares to eat. When she uses the funbites cube cutter she ends up eating 2 sandwiches instead of just part of 1. I love that this gets her to eat more of her food.

The cutter is easy to use. Simply rock cutter back and forth over your food 5-6 times. Then take the insert and push it through the cutter. Pop out comes your food…

Balance Bikes perfect for your child

Most of us learned to ride a bike as a child, at 5 or 6 years of age, with training wheel. Remember? You hopped on the bike, pedaled around for a couple of months, then when the training wheels came off, you soon realized you had not developed the primary skills needed to ride a bike, balance. Ok, you did not realize it but your knees and elbows certainly did. So get rid of those old fashion training wheel bikes and join the hottest bike teaching trend, balance bikes.A balance bike is a bicycle that trains a child on how to balance and steer. It has no pedals, chains, or training wheels. Most parents can start their child on a balance bike as young as 18 months to 2 years of age but they make balance bikes for all ages. So you might ask can a two year old really ride a bike? Absolutely! So here ‘s how it works. They ‘ll start off straddling the bike and walk around with it. Then they will sit on the seat with both feet on the ground and walk it from a seated position. The…

Rock N Learn Sight Words Ibook

My daughter loves books and she also loves to use my iPad. My daughter is in Kindergarten and can't read yet. However, I love apps that help her practice what she is learning in school and help her learn to read. I love Rock n Learn and so does my daughter.

Rock N Learn has wonderful learning DVD's that my daughter loves to watch. They also just came out with a sight words ibook. My daughter was happy when I showed her the new app on my iPad.

Fun Halloween costumes for kids

Here are a few fun ideas I found on Piniest for Halloween costumes.

Spiderman / Spidergirl TuTu - Perfect for your Superhero Princess (Newborn to 5T) - Extra Fluffy

I failed my test.....gestational diabetes

With Aiden I pasted my gestational diabetes with flying colors and I was hopping for the same with Logan. I have been eating better (well not the week I went on vacation) and trying to walk more. So yesterday I took the "yummy" test of having to drink the Orange pure sugar water drink. Man I almost passed out after they took my blood. I felt really yucky. So it kinda came a surprise to me when my midwife called and said I failed by 6 points. The normal range to be in is 135 and I was 141! My midwife does not think its a big deal and more then likely a fluke. But I still have to go in a get the three hour test done. I should be getting that done sometime next week. I will keep you all up today as to what happens.

Help Facebook is not working!!!!

So as most of you know who are entering my giveaways right now that my Facebook link is not working. I can see it and if you are already a fan already I "think" you can see it. But if you are trying to become a fan you can't find my page. Does anyone know what's going on? I tried to change setting, my name you name it and I still can't think of what to do next. The URl should be but I bet it will only take you to YOUR home page. I would really use some help if anyone knows whats going on.

Best gift for the holidays Shari's Berries (review)

I just love the end of the year. Its full of holidays, family, fun, and parties. And no party is complete with out some chocolate covered strawberries, and who better to get them from then Shari's Berries!!!! Although have might have to warn you they may not last to when your party starts. At least not with me, I think I ate half the box in the first hour or to it got here. But can you really blame me, just look how yummy it looks.

Maternity Monday: 30 week

How your baby's growing:Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

Ye have been warned: giveaways

So awhile back Heather had to disqualifie some people from giveaways because they said they did something when they did not. I will be the first to admit that I do not always check the entries.... till now. We have three giveaways going on right now and a few blog hops coming up. So I decided that as of today I am going to go through ever giveaway that's going on and check to make sure you are doing what you said your doing. I am not trying to be mean or hard but it does help our number and helps us give you better products to win if you are following the rules. What I will do this time is check every entire, and if you did not give me the right info or did not do something I will be emailing you asking you if you still want a chance to win the product. If you do then you will need to fix the few things (I will link it for you) you ether did not do or did not give me the right info for. After this months giveaways have been fixed I will not email you again, I will just disqualifie…

Men's ties, bow ties and cufflinks review

We have just about 11 weeks left till Christmas. Do you know what to get your husband? I never know what to get Ryan, he's picky he never tells you what he wants or needs (until he buys it). So I was happy to get a 100% silk tie that I could surprise him with. Ryan was in need of a new tie, he was just saying on Sunday how he can't find half of them. That's when I pulled out the tie. He got the navy blue pique tie. While he does like it he did say its a little stiff. It's is because he does a full winder and he also loves soft silky ties.

Beauty Box 5

There are tons of beauty subscription boxes out there, but Beauty Box is quickly climbing up the rankings as being women's favorite.

Never heard of Beauty Box or even the beauty subscription box concept? I hadn't either, until I lived with my sister. She loved makeup (as do I), and signed up with a beauty box subscription service. Basically, you pay anywhere from $10-$20 a month (depending on the company), and they send you a box each month with makeup, lotion, face care, hair care (and more) samples that value well over $50 (many times upwards of $100). These are samples that the companies generally charge for, and many times you get an actual full sized product instead of just a sample. When that little box comes in the mail, everyone in our apartment used to get excited (she gave me the stuff in the box that she didn't think she'd try). Hell, she even got tea to drink one month. It was awesome!

Beauty Box is a great way to try samples from many different beauty comp…

Lullaby Versions of Oasis Giveaway

I love having a variety of lullaby music for my kids. I have found Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star
These lullaby songs aren't quite what you are used to. I love that they aren't the same old kids songs over and over. Instead they are the same songs you'd normally listen to. They are just arranged in an instrumental, lullaby version. The songs are perfect for babies, relaxation, yoga, etc. I find them soothing when I've had a rough day.

Copy Kids DVD

As you may know by know my daughter Emarose is extremely picky. She can like something one day, and the next day she won't even try it. Oh and getting her to try new foods seems to be like an almost impossible task. So I was thrilled when I found Copy Kids.
