Summer Cloth Sponsor Spotlight: The green nursery

Image
It is summer here in AZ. Which means the weather is HOT! To beat the heat my kids are taking swimming lessons at the local pool. As a cloth diapering mom, I can't imagine buying disposable swim diapers. Especially since I'd be using them on a daily basis. I can't afford that, and I also don't want to create all that waste. Thankfully there are cloth swim diapers out there. I was sent a Bummis Swimmi from The Green Nursery to review. Clownfish print

Rock N Learn States and Capitals Giveaway

Image
I've worked with RockNLearn two times over the past several months and I love them.  My daughter has several of the DVDs including Colors, Shapes, and Counting and Letter Sounds . The company has excellent customer service and a variety of educational products to choose from. My daughter loves to watch the DVDs and is excited when a new one comes in the mail. So I was thrilled when I heard that they have now come out with ibooks for the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. My daughter has basically decided that my iPad is hers. So I like to load it with educational games and books for her to use. She was able to review the States & Capitals ibook. My daughter is just starting Kindergarten in the Fall and the book is designed for students in grades 4-12. So needless to say it is above my daughters level. However that didn't stop her from enjoying the book. Fun songs to help you learn

Summer Cloth Sponsor Spotlight: Willow Store

Image
I've been cloth diapering for awhile now. So of course I know that you can't use dryer sheets with cloth diapers. I've also come to wonder how effective dryer sheets. Are they worth the money? or the chemicals? I found a safe alternative at the Willow Store. I received a set of 3 assorted colors Wool Dryer Balls valued at  $19.95

Summer Cloth Sponsor Spotlight: Cheeky Cloth

Maternity Monday week 14 - Baby Smiles review

Image
See the bigger picture . How your baby's growing: This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches —  about the size of a lemon  — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hai

I've found an awesome cloth diaper shop that is local to where I live in AZ. They are local but still quite a drive away so I haven't been into the actual store. The store is Go Go Natural which is in Chandler AZ I'm in the Phoenix area, so maybe 30 min- hour drive away. While I haven't been into the store, I have met the shop owner Meredith a couple times at the Great Cloth Diaper Change event. In fact, last year I won a DinkleDooz diaper at the event. So now I have 2 DinkleDooz diapers.  The red one I received over a year ago at the Great Cloth Diaper Change in 2011. The orange one is the one I received for the review.  You can read all about DinkleDooz on their website . DinkleDooz pocket diaper with large and small insert include

Annmarie Gianni Skin Care review

Image
Its al ways nice to find products that are organic, and even more so when it comes to skin care. I can't tell you how many face washes I have had problems with because they have so much chemicals in them. All it does is make my face burn and break out more! Lets face it with this pregnancy, I look like I am back in high school. My face has broken out all over the place. But it is getting better after about a week of using Annmarie Gianni Skin Care.  I got a ton of little samples from them so I split them with April so she will be doing a review for you on the stuff she took home. I am going to be talking more about the Coconut Honey Mask, Coconut Body Oil,  Dead Sea Facial Scrub and  Herbal Facial Oil.

Prenatal yoga DVD review

Image
Man do I feel tired. I have not really done any type of workout in weeks. As some of you might remember I had, well still am kinda having bad morning sickness. So when you feel nasty you don't really feel like working out. The last few weeks I have been trying to at least get out and walk but today I really felt like doing some yoga. Awhile back I got this great Prenatal Vinyasa yoga and short forms DVD , but again with me being sick there was no way I wanted to try it out yet. So today I'm feeling much better and decided to try it out. First thing I saw that I loved about this DVD is that they have short 15, 30, 45 and 75 minute lessons. Great way to help you slowly get back into shape. You should never just pick up a yoga DVD and try to push yourself to finish the whole thing your fist time. So this DVD is great for people who are new, or what not worked out in awhile.

Maternity Monday

Image
See the bigger picture . How your baby's growing: The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder. Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long ( about the size of a lime ) and weighs half an ounce. By the way I get my info from  http://

Now is the time of year when school let's out for the Summer. Time for swimming, movies, camping, sleepovers, and playing with friends.
