Summer Learning

Now is the time of year when school let's out for the Summer. Time for swimming, movies, camping, sleepovers, and playing with friends. However, this is also a time of year when student's lose skills they have already learned. As a former teacher, I know that the first several weeks of the school year involve reteaching information that should have been learned the previous school year.

What can you do to help your child avoid learning loss over the summer? Try to engage your child over the summer with simple activities. Read Books, Create Simple Graphs, Go on nature walks and talk about what you see, hear, etc. Visit local museums. Check out local resources for crafts and other activities for kids.

I was sent a summer bridge activities prize pack for Pre k-k. It included a Summer Bridge Activities Workbook, Summer Bridge activities card set, 2 Sun notepads (50 count), 2 sea life name tags (40 count), and pack of Sea Life mini incentive charts (30 charts, 630 stickers).
Summer Learning Assortment
Couple of the workbook pages
Learning Cards with puzzles, jokes,  fun facts, brain teasers, and more.

My daughter has been enjoying completing pages in the workbook. She will start school this fall and I love that this will help prepare her. The activities are such that she can complete them. I like how it is divided into Days. Each Days activity doesn't take very long to complete. This is good because she is still working on sitting down to do school work. She loves doing her "homework" and she likes to place a sticker on it after she completes it.
I think the activity card set is also great as I can throw it in the diaper bag, purse, glove box, etc. This way it is with us when we are out and about. It gives her something to do and helps eliminate boredom. I love it because not only is she not bored, but she is actually learning something.
The set also includes access to an online companion for even more learning fun.
While we haven't yet used the name tags or notepads. I find that they are cute and would be perfect for writing notes or anytime a name tag might be needed.

My daughter and I both love this set.
