Elfishiki iPad App

Image
I just got an iPad a couple of months ago. My daughter loves it and sometimes I wonder if she thinks the iPad is hers. I love finding apps that are fun for her, yet educational too.  I was able to review the Elfishki Giant Cake app and she loves it.

Shake, Rattle, Roll, Hop Sponsor Spotlight: Precious Bottoms

Image
As many of you know I cloth diaper. I love working with Precious Bottoms Diaper Service . The customer service has been great. I love that they care about their customers. They will answer any questions you might have about cloth diapering and they work quickly to resolve any issues you may have. I was sent 2 prefold diapers, a snappi fastener, and a pink thirsties duo wrap cover. Yes my son wore a pink diaper cover. I don't mind, and Rachelle informed me about the color before I received it. Prefold, Snappi, and Thristi Cover

New Disney store opens in Lone Tree Co

Image
Yesterday, I would have to say was one of the funnest days I have ever had! April, Aiden and I all got to tour a new Disney store that has not even opened yet. I love Disney stores, there is something about them that just makes you feel like a kid again. Walking into this new Disney store felt almost like walking into Disney land. When you first come in there is this HUGE princess castle that the kids can walk into. This would make any little girls day. Around the castle there where all kinds of princess dresses. Ever thing from Cinderella to Rapunzel and her wedding dress. Then there where dolls and oh man how I wish I had a little girl right then so I would just get her one of everything on there. Really because I want to play with it ;)

Maternity Monday

Image
See the bigger picture . How your baby's growing: Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and  about the size of a fig , is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden. She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming. So the morning sickness is going down! And the pants are starting to not fix any more! Other then that not much has been going on this week. But I do have two great reviews coming up this week that any pregnant mom will want.

Shake, Rattle, Roll hop Sponsor Spotlight: Peter Rabbit Organics

Image
As a busy mom, I love finding convenient and healthy food options for my kids.  Peter Rabbit Organics is a company I love for its healthy squeeze pouches. CJ BUTTer Review

Image
Almost every child gets a diaper rash at some point in time. Although those in cloth can get them less frequently they may still occur. What do you do when you get a diaper rash? Do you put on any old diaper rash cream? Well not if you want to keep your cloth diapers safe. Many butt creams contain zinc which is not good for your cloth diapers. Thankfully CJ BUTTer is cloth diaper safe. Cj's Assortment

Shake, Rattle, Roll hop Sponsor Spotlight: Buddy Fruits

Image
My daughter loves fruit. I love that she enjoys them but sometimes it is messy to bring along fruit with us when out and about. Sometimes it seems easier to bring along chips, cookies, and other junk food. Thankfully Buddy Fruits allows me to bring along the goodness of fruit wherever we go.

Shake, Rattle, Roll Sponsor Spotlight: PlasmaCar

Image
Summer is right around the corner. Many kids end up bored within days or weeks of school getting out. Or they spend too much of their time indoors not being active. I have found an awesome outdoor toy that will keep your kids active this summer. It is a PlasmaCar . All the pieces before assembly

YoBaby by Stonyfield

Image
We all know how important it is to make sure your kids are getting a well balanced diet. And let's face it, it's also hard to find food that are not pumped with "extra" stuff. When I buy food I try to find thing that are more organic or natural. So when I got the change to review Yobaby  yogurt I was thrilled. YoBaby is made by Stonyfield and is organic with no added hormones. Aiden had turned into a little bit of a picky eater. So getting to to eat anything at times can be a fight. But man does he love his YoToddler!

Signing Time on Demand Review

Image
As a parent I want to be able to communicate with my children. Young kids sometimes don't have the words yet to tell you what they need. This is why I love signing with kids. When my now 4 year old child was younger, we watched some episodes of Baby Signing time. I loved them and so did she. When her brother came along, we knew that I'd use some signs with him too.

Mother's Day Sponsor Spotlight: Artisana Nut Butters

Image
Do you have a peanut allergy? Enjoy a gluten free lifestyle? or just want to avoid soy? Then check out Artisana Nut Butters. There products are made in a Vegan facility which does not process peanuts, gluten or soy. They do process tree nuts. As a child I loved Peanut Butter and Peanut Butter cookies. However, my dad was allergic to peanuts. So I couldn't make them at home. I  know so many people with these allergies or sensitivities. Artisana provides a great alternative nut butter. You don't have to worry about contamination with products you might be allergic or sensitive too.

Mother's Day Cloth Sponsor Spotlight: Precious Bottoms Diaper Service

Image
As you may remember I worked with Precious Bottoms during the Ohh Baby Baby Hop when I reviewed a Kawaii Diaper.  They have agreed to sponsor us for several items in the following months. This time I'm reviewing a sample of Butt Balm from Morgan Botanicals . Sample with list of  all natural ingredients The butt balm is called "Sweet Cheeks Salve" and the all- natural ingredients include: Olive oil Premium Beeswax Vitamin E Calendula Flowers Chamomile Flowers Comfrey Leaf and Root Elder Flower Marshmallow Leaf and Root Lavender Blossoms Rose Petals Signature Essential Oil. The balm is a golden yellow color and is perfect for soothing  diaper rash. It is safe to use with cloth diapers too. It won't leave a nasty residue on your diapers.  It helps to keep the skin's surface dry, nourished, and fight bacteria. This balm can also be used to soothe dry, chapped winter skin.  Thankfully my son doesn't get many diaper rashes. So I haven't

Image
As a mom I rarely splurge on things for me. On rare occasions, I take a special moment to indulge in something for me. Sometimes its just a moment to myself. Other times it is a special treat. A favorite treat of mine is to indulge in Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Golden State Fruit sent me a dozen Chocolate covered strawberries for my birthday. Mmm...Looks Delicious!

Jammy Jams Review and Giveaway

Image
I love listening to music. I like a variety of music. My kids on the other hand could listen to the same song over and over and over. So when it comes to bedtime music for my kids, sometimes the same lullaby gets on my nerves after a few times.  Jammy Jams is a great solution.  We worked with this company back in Dec. and you can read that review here if you want. Jammy Jams is a fairly new company and was created in 2010 after Jeff and his wife Lynn had a baby boy Rollins. His inspiration came from late night feedings with his son, and Jammy Jams was started. They have 4 albums out and each one offers lullaby versions of every day songs. Check out the titles on the Hair Metal Goes Lullaby Album below.

Hidden recycler attached to cabinet under kitchen sink

Maternity Monday

Image
Well I found something that helps the morning sickness, Zofran. I got this from my doctor because it got so bad that I had almost not eaten in three days! Ok so here is where I am right now. See the bigger picture . How your baby's growing: 9 weeks Your new resident is nearly an inch long —   about the size of a grape   — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 week

Mother's Day Sponsor Spotlight: Guylian

Image
Mother's Day is near. Have you thought about what to get? Flowers and Chocolates seem to be a standby.  I love chocolate. It makes for a nice sweet treat. Chocolate always seems to make me feel better when I'm sad. Plus it is great for all occasions. While Chocolates seem to be standby, this chocolate is far from ordinary. Guylian sent me some awesome chocolates to try.  This is a Belgian Chocolate company that began in the late 1950s. The companies name is the combination of founder Guy Foubert and Liliane (his wife's name). Guylian was born.  Look at all the chocolate Guylian sent me.

Mother's Day Cloth Sponsor Spotlight: Teeny Turtle

Image
I've been wanting to try an Applecheeks diaper for ages. Teeny Turtle has given me that chance. Teeny Turtle is a Diaper store located in SC. I wish they were near me because they do demos, cloth diaper parties, and have local events. Teeny Turtle is also a diapering service for those in the area. For those out of area like me they are an online store. They sell a large variety of cloth diapers, detergents, wet bags, wipes, teething necklaces, etc. I tried out the Applecheeks Bamboo bundle in Wild Child. Applecheeks diapers come in 2 sizes. Size 1 fits 7-20 lbs and Size 2 fits 18-35 + lbs. I chose the size 2 for my little man as he is currently about 21 lbs. Smallest setting

Mother's Day Sponsor Spotlight: Buy Green

Image
While I'm not totally green, I love the site Buy Green. I like knowing that these products are made "green".  Buy Green looks at 4 different aspects to determine if a product is "green. These aspects are: 1.Source material 2. Manufacturing. 3. Usage, and 4. Disposal. The product is then given ratings based on these 4 categories to determine how "green" or environmentally friendly the product is.  I love that I don't have to really know a lot to understand how this product is green.  I was able to review a Revolve filter bottle. The bottle also came with a Buy Green bag. Revolve filtration bottle

Mother's Day Cloth Sponsor Spotlight: Red Barn Cloth Diapers post 1 of 2

Image
I'm thrilled that I was given the opportunity to work with Red Barn Cloth Diapers.  Jeni the shop owner and her husband live in a big red barn. Hence the name. She is very nice, and has answered all my questions in a timely manner.  First up is a diaper review and Coming Soon is a wool wrap review. I have had the opportunity to review a Nifty Nappy Heavy Doody fitted diaper.  Although I had no experience with fitted diapers, shop owner suggested this diaper to me as a nighttime solution. It has worked wonders. I can leave it on my baby for 10-12 hours overnight with no leaks. Yay! The diaper is a one size diaper. This is great because it will fit small newborn babies, and still fit older toddlers. You can view a video of how to put on a newborn here. I don't have a newborn to try it out on, but it looks like it would work great on a small baby. The body of the diaper is made in 3 layers.  -Outer layer: Organic Hemp fleece -Sandwich layer: Organic Hemp fleece -Inside laye

Mother's Day Cloth Sponsor Spotlight: Nana Pants by Betsy

Image
I've been looking at diapers to find something that will work for overnights with my 21 month old son. I'm looking for something that will last all night without leaks. Better yet if it is easy to use, and has a cute print. I fell in love when I found Nana Pants by Betsy . Thomas Train Embroidered diaper with coordinating red snaps

Mother's Day Cloth Sponsor Spotlight: Tiger Tooshies

Image
As a cloth diaper mama, I'm a sucker for cute diapers. I found an etsy shop called Tiger Tooshies that has the most adorable diapers. I was able to review an AI2 Cat in the hat diaper from this shop. Front view- fits nicely around his legs.
