Mother's Day Cloth Sponsor Spotlight: A Happy Green Life

Do you cloth diaper? Or are you thinking about cloth diapering? Have you heard that some laundry detergent shouldn't be used on cloth diapers? Some detergents are full of enzymes, fabric brighteners, and fabric softeners that are not good for cloth diapers. What happens if you use the wrong detergent? You could void any diaper warranty you have, you could end up with diapers that leak, and/ or your baby could break out in a rash due to reaction from the detergent used.
I've found that A Happy Green Life has some wonderful Cloth friendly detergent. It is designed to be gentle enough for cloth diapers and baby, yet handle ground-in dirt and stains. From looking at the website, I discovered that the laundry wash is made up of naturally occurring chemicals and compounds "They are void of optical brighteners, phosphates, and soap; all of which are bad for the environment as well as your laundry" (Happy Green Life Website) They use 100% essential oils and also synthetic oils to scent the laundry wash. Scents are designed to evaporate and not build up on clothes.

I was sent one 50/100 load bag in Love Spell Scent  to test.

"Love Spell: An absolutely tantalizing fragrance composed of sweet bouquet of mandarin orange, bergamot, and tangerine enhanced by hints of fresh peaches, strawberries, and raspberries on an undertone of white musk. Imaginative and very complex!"

They have a variety of scents that I'd love to try including:
Fruit Slices: Fruit salad of orange, strawberry, apple and grapes; sprinkled with shaved coconut.
Rainbow: A very unique fragrance beginning with top notes of pear, green grapes, kiwi, raspberry and peach; followed by middle notes of jasmine and lily of the valley; and well rounded with a base note of white musk.

Vanilla- 100% essential oils
(Scent Descriptions taken from website)

What do I love:
I love that I can use this for All of my laundry. I don't have to buy a separate detergent. I've used it on diapers, kids clothes, dress clothes, towels, work clothes, etc.
Scents: The Love Spell scent is great. Strong enough for me to enjoy the smell as I load my laundry in the wash or take it out. Many times heavy perfumes or scents are too much for me and may make me feel sick. This is not the case here. The amount of scent is perfect. Not too strong but I can still smell it.  I like that I can still have some fragrance yet not feel overpowered or sick by it. I also love how this particular fragrance smells and I love that there are many choices of scents. You can pick something to suit your families needs.
Cost: At $10 for 100 loads (I have an HE machine) I'm only spending $0.10/ load. It's only $0.20/ load for those that don't have H.E. either way very cost effective.  You could spend more than this for a detergent that isn't cloth diaper safe, and that doesn't smell as nice.  Be sure to check out A Happy Green Life to buy the laundry wash. Bonus they have May scents on sale for 10% off.

Win it: Look for a giveaway coming May 1st as part of the Mother's Day Cloth Hop. Be sure to like A Happy Green Life on facebook , twitter and their blog to prepare for the giveaway.

Comments

I've been interested in this detergent but haven't tried it yet. I'm always nervous about switching cloth detergent.

Did you have any odor or rash issues after using it?

I've been having rash problems with Rockin Green.

No, I haven't had any problems with odor or rash. If you are concerned, you might consider trying it without the scent first.
