Elfishiki iPad App
I just got an iPad a couple of months ago. My daughter loves it and sometimes I wonder if she thinks the iPad is hers. I love finding apps that are fun for her, yet educational too. I was able to review the Elfishki Giant Cake app and she loves it.
In this app you can either read the story, listen to the story, or play. My daughter is only 4 so we either listen to the story or play. I have looked at the read the story part and think that feature will be used more once my daughter knows how to read.
My daughter loves books. So of course she loves listening to this story on the iPad. I love that the story is cute. The pictures are very well done and go with the story. The story includes questions that get the reader thinking about what is happening. Each page of the story includes 3 different questions to get readers thinking. I love the variety of the questions and how it involves readers into the story. It gets them interacting instead of just sitting there listening or reading. I love how the interaction helps my child retain what is happening in the story and think about how that relates to things she sees in every day life. The story is about 2 different bakers who do not like each other. Yet they end up having to work together. I love that it shows cooperation and learning to respect other people's differences. This app is super fun for the kids, promotes kindness, and teaches many aspects of reading.
My daughter loves to decorate the cake in the play setting. She thinks its fun to put bats and other silly things on the cake. You can take pictures of the cake you create and sent it to others if you wish.
I'm happy to know that my daughter is learning when she thinks she is just playing on my iPad.
This is not the only story in the Elfishki series. Check out Fairy Tales, Myths and Legends of Elfishki to find more stories, artwork and videos.
You will also want to follow on twitter and facebook to stay up to date with Elshiski series. This is one app that you don't want to miss.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
