Mother's Day Sponsor Spotlight: Artisana Nut Butters
Do you have a peanut allergy? Enjoy a gluten free lifestyle? or just want to avoid soy? Then check out Artisana Nut Butters. There products are made in a Vegan facility which does not process peanuts, gluten or soy. They do process tree nuts.
As a child I loved Peanut Butter and Peanut Butter cookies. However, my dad was allergic to peanuts. So I couldn't make them at home. I know so many people with these allergies or sensitivities. Artisana provides a great alternative nut butter. You don't have to worry about contamination with products you might be allergic or sensitive too.
Artisana Nut Butters sent me some nut butters to review and try.
Here is what I tried:
Cacao Bliss- Raw Chocolate Coconut butter.
Macadamia butter- Macadamia nuts with cashews
Tahini- ground husked sesame seeds
Pecan butter
Almond butter
Walnut butter
Coconut butter
Cashew butter
Coconut oil
These taste delicious on bread, cakes, cookies, crepes, fruit, smoothies and more. Your possibilities are endless. The website includes a few recipes that you could use. Here is one I'd like to try kickin almond pesto.
I expected the Cacao bliss to have a stronger chocolate taste to it. The taste is a very strong coconut taste with a slight chocolate hint in it. I found that I didn't like it by itself on bread. So I did some experimenting to find how I would like it. I first took a refrigerated sugar cookie dough package. I added a heaping tablespoon or two of Cacao bliss and mixed in until it was a light brown color. I then added some chocolate chips to make it have a little more chocolate flavor. Then I baked. My husband was doubtful that he would enjoy them. I said, give it a try. If you don't like it, that's ok. They turned out Delicious. My husband even took some with his lunch the next day. My son kept eating them and saying more and cookie. So it was a hit with the family too.
I must saw that my favorites are the Almond butter and Cashew butter. I think that is because I'm most familiar with the taste of those nuts. When I was a child my dad would make cashew butter cookies. This cashew butter tastes good in a sandwich and also in a cookie. To make as a cookie just substitute cashew butter for peanut butter in any peanut butter recipe.
I'm sure you will find many uses for these wonderful nut butters. Be sure to follow Artisana on facebook and twitter to prepare for the giveaway and to stay informed about their products.
Win it: A lucky winner of the Mother's day hop will win a jar of their choice along with samples of the other flavors.
