Back to School: Emerson Lane Originals
As I was searching for back to school stuff. I decided I wanted some cute clothing for my daughter to start Kindergarten. I found Emerson Lane Originals Etsy Shop and wanted the Kindergarten rocks design.
When I contacted Jamie she was happy to work with me. We decided that instead of her sending me an Iron Transfer, she'd send me the design file. This was for several reasons- 1. She was in the process of switching the transfer papers that she uses. 2. With the file I could use it over and over again.
This shop will have their permanent storefront at www.emersonlaneoriginals.com. However right now all shopping still has to be done through Etsy. Emerson Lane Originals has printable files for boys, girls, and adults. They are now selling Vinyl Shirts. They also sell tote bags and do custom orders.
She sent me 2 high quality digital files. 1 normal, and 1 in reverse. This allows me to use the design in multiple ways. Some ideas I've had for using the design include: T shirt, Bag, Stickers, Cupcake toppers, etc. I thought about making this into a bow. I think this would look cute at the center with ribbon all around. However, I have no knowledge of how to make bows. I'm sure if you make bows you could figure out how. I love that you can use this for whatever you want. Just adjust your printer settings to print it the size you need.
Unfortunately some things came up and I wasn't able to make a shirt out of this yet. For one, it looked like my daughter was going to end up wearing school uniforms. Then it looked like she wouldn't get into kindergarten because of her late birthday. Thankfully as of yesterday she is enrolled in Kindergarten. She won't be wearing uniforms either so I just need to make it a shirt.
When I wasn't going to make a shirt due to uniforms I decided I could make this into stickers. She could then use them to label her stuff. So I searched the house high and low and finally found the sticker paper I knew we had. Ready to print? More problems. For some reason our printers color ink isn't working. Hubby tried putting in new cartridges, cleaning it, etc. Decided we need to get a new print-head for the printer.
Timing just wasn't good to go buy it right this moment. So we made due with black and white printed stickers. It really doesn't due the file justice. I can't wait until we get our printer fixed so I can make some in color. I may just have to stop by a Copy place with the file and get them to do some prints for me. Or we may head over to Grandma's house to print this off. I'd really love to make this into a T Shirt for my daughter.
