Rock N Learn Sight Words Ibook
My daughter loves books and she also loves to use my iPad. My daughter is in Kindergarten and can't read yet. However, I love apps that help her practice what she is learning in school and help her learn to read. I love Rock n Learn and so does my daughter.
Rock N Learn has wonderful learning DVD's that my daughter loves to watch. They also just came out with a sight words ibook. My daughter was happy when I showed her the new app on my iPad.
This iBook is pretty much the same as the Sight Words DVD my daughter already owns. She was excited to see that she can now use it on the iPad. The iBook helps students to learn over 60 sight words. This is done through engaging characters, songs and fun practice.
I love that the words are presented in context which also allows for her to build reading comprehension. Words include pre-primer Dolch words, the top 20 from Fry's, and more. Some of the words include: in, out, come, go, to, for, me, my, give, frome, came, as, are.
The ibook includes interactive features that allow for independent learning and self drill. There are pages with the words that my daughter can practice reading. Then she can click on the word to hear if she did it correctly. There are also pages with sentences for her to read. She can check each word or she can click the play button and it will read the whole sentence back to her.
Emarose loves to listen to the different sections of the ibook. She also enjoys using the interaction options to practice her sight words.
This comes in handy on our 30 min or so car rides to and from school each day. She can practice while she is in the car. She enjoys it, I like that she is learning, and it helps keep her from getting bored.
