Primary Graffiti Summer learning packet
Summer is here. Are your days full with swimming lessons, movies, splash pads, parks, etc? Or are your kids sitting at home bored? Either way, summer can be a time of learning loss. To prevent learning loss kids need to do things to stimulate the brain.
I was super excited to find Primary Graffiti and her Summer Homework for Kindergarten Graduates. My daughter just graduated from Kindergarten in May and I am pleased to have a super easy way to keep her learning over the summer.
The program is super easy to follow and only takes a few minutes each day. It includes a monthly calendar for June, July, and August with activities for each day. Some activities include practice tying a shoe, reading for 20 min, practicing sight words, writing, measuring, and math.
The calendar is set up such that you can just look at the day of the week and then have a simple activity to do. For any of the writing activities she has included pages to do them on. The pages have cute summer designs on them. We did not start this the first week of June like I wanted to do because of some computer issues I was having.
When we did start it, I let me daughter pick one of the activities to do. When she completed the activity we put a sticker on that spot on the calendar. This worked great for my daughter because she could choose which type of activity she wanted to do. Some days she even wanted to do more than one activity. :)
I love that my daughter is encouraged to be reading. The packet also gets her writing about the stories she is reading. The sight words rings make it convenient to practice her sight words. We can easily take the rings with us when we are in the car. So even on are most busy summer days we can get in some learning.
You can enter to win your own Summer learning packet below. Be sure to visit her T.P.T. store to see the many other items she sells. Also check out her blog, facebook, and twitter pages. She has many wonderful resources for teachers and parents.

What is your favorite feature of the learning packet? The calendar. Laminated and on the fridge would be great!
