square by square
My kids enjoy playing games and so I was excited to try Square by Square with them.
The game is one that teaches spatial relationships. Their are 14 puzzle pieces, 60 challenge cards, a game container with card drawer and a to go bag.
You simply choose a challenge card and try to arrange the pieces into that same picture. If you get stuck the back of the card offers two hints.
The game is aimed for ages 5& up. I have a 6 1/2 year old and a 4 year old. The 6 year old tried to complete a few of the pictures but gave up quickly. I guess it was too much thinking after an already long day at school. she and her 4 year old brother instead seem to enjoy just creating their own patterns and pictures with the pieces. I think soon my daughter will try using the cards again. I'm sure with just a little guidance at first she'd get the hang of it.
Even though they aren't doing the challenges this game is still helping my kids think ahead and see how they can arrange/rearrange pieces to create, I love that it gets their brains thinking while still allowing them to be creative.
I am an adult and I enjoyed doing this game. It was fun to pick out a card and then work to arrange the pieces so it fit. I am the type that enjoys brain teasers and puzzles. So this game was perfect for me. Some of the puzzles even have more than one correct solution.
Overall I am super pleased and recommend this game,
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
