Furry friends for life: how cats are good for kids

Furry friends for life: how cats are good for kids Getting a cat is undoubtedly a big decision for any family. Parents need to think about who will be responsible for the cat, the expenses involved, not to mention the potential impact on the furniture! But what about your kids? Many parents worry about things like how a young child will handle a new pet, but what's not so commonly talked about is the influence a cat can have on a child. Cats can teach children not only respect and responsibility towards animals, but also improve kids’ emotional and social skills. The positives of getting a pet The positives that come with any pet apply here. Your child may not be able to walk their cat(!) but children can learn about respect for other living things through playing with their furry friend. Having a cat to look after teaches them to be responsible as they grow older; measuring out the Whiskas cat food, joining in with basic grooming and trips to the vet,  buying their cat an occasion...

Well hello

Hey guys how is everyone doing? I was just thinking today how I have not done a post about me in awhile. Well after my whole family got sick with some kind of virus, I got it really bad too. To the point where I spent 4 hours in the ER getting IV fluids in me. Everyone got it, and it started as a virus and ended as an sinus infection and or ear infection. That being said we are all doing much better now.  Other then that nothing is really new. I got a hair cut today! Lol So I will leave you with that for now and get on to writing some review for you. Hope you all have a good weekend!

How to communication with teenagers for parenting, guest post

How to communication with teenagers for parenting The teenage time is among the most difficult for parents to handle when they see their kids growing. The teenagers usually are seen developing different ideas, beliefs and values, which are different than the parents. This is basically the part and parcel of the normal process of going ahead close to independence. However, parents are seen going conscious and hence are seen struggling to control their independence, which they must allow their kids at various age groups and at different situations.  You will not find any prescription for this; every young man happens to be individual and requires different suggestions. The teenage communication is different than any other communication as it causes stress and conflict. The following are some of the ways of communicating with teenagers for parents. Let’s check them out:   Take some time When your teenager child wants to talk to you he or she requires your complete and undivided a...

How To Stay Positive When You’ve Been Diagnosed With Kidney Disease, guest post

How To Stay Positive When You’ve Been Diagnosed With Kidney Disease So you’ve just been told that you’re going to be suffering with kidney disease for the rest of your life. Your whole world has been shaken upside down and you just don’t know what’s going to happen! You’re talking to all these so called specialists but no matter when they tell you, it doesn’t feel like it matters because you feel like your whole world has been totally flipped upside down. Inside you’re praying that they’ve made some sort of mistake and that any second now they will reveal the truth to you… but of course that never happens. Most people who have been diagnosed with some sort of disease will actually experience the phases of going through denial, real anger, serious depression and eventually they will go onto accept their situation. But you need to be different from normal people and go from the denial stage to accepting your situation as quickly as possible. You also need to make sure that you r...

WipesWraps Baby Wipes Covers review

Image
I have found after having kids that eveyone needs wet wip around the house, even if you dont have kids! My husband (Ryan) uses them for all kinds of thinks like cleaning off the computer desk, wiping  up after he shaves, really just about everything. Sure he could use a wash cloth but lets face it he doesn't. Anyhow with that being said I have found a brand that I love, they are stong, cheap and no one cares if the box is pritty or not. At least until now. Clever Relish has made this really simple really cute wet wip cover. So here is what my wet wip box looked like before.

The Potty Boot Camp review

Image
It seams like now a days everyone has advice on how to raise your kids. And teaching them to go potty is no exception. I am about to call my grandparents out and I hope they don't get mad! When we first started potty training Aiden we had many people tell us not even to try until he is 3 almost 4! Really, really? How could that be when there where so many people and book out there that talk about potty training your kid before their 2! So we started at 1 1/2 years old, and he did great.....until little brother came along and he wanted to be a baby again. That being said once we started again everyone told us to just let him run around naked, NAKED! So we did because he had a hard time pulling his underwear on and off. Well he is not even 3 yet and potty train about 90% of the way. However I just got this book called, "The Potty Boot Camp"  and it gives you some other great tips and techniques not just from a moms view but from doctors too. There are ones such a...

A night out with the girls – staying in. Guest post

A  night out with the girls – staying in As we all know, w hen you have young children, you tend to spend a lot of  evenings at home. S ometimes weeks can pass without having a get-together with your friends and those nights out with the girls you used to have when you were a singleton probably see m like a dim and distant memory! Unless you’re really organised with babysitters – or have a partner who is willing to stay home on the nights that you want to go out, and all your girlfriends have the same childcare solutions as you  and can coordinate for that to happen  on the same night, it can be almost impossible to arrange a night with the usual gang of friends. One way to get around this is to arrange an online bingo night with your closest friends. That way, none of you has to sort out childcare, or fin d a way of getting to a venue. A ll you have to do is get the kids in bed, sort out a snack that you can eat by your computer and you’re a free a gent! The re are ...

Move With Me kids yoga DVD review

Image
With both Ryan and I working out more, well more like just Ryan. Aiden has been wanting to join in too. It is great to teach your kids at a young age to do some form of working out wether it be yoga, running, swimming, anything to help keep me moving. Not because we want to to be a body builder or anything but to help them learn that it's good for their bodies. It keeps them fit, healty and helps to burn off some energy. But you might not alway know where to start or even how to make it fun. I know for us if you push Aiden to do something he will not always want to. That is where Move With Me comes in. They sell some great yoga for kids DVDs and flash cards that also tell a story. Stories like flying a rocket ship to the moon, and they show the kids the yoga moves to match it. The Move With Me yoga DVD are ment for kids 3-7. You can get this as ether a DVD set or a download right to your computer. We got our on the computer, and now I am wishing we got it on DVD, only b...
